Broddanes

Life at Broddanes

The nature in the Broddanes area is very special. The coastline is diverse with small peninsulas and bays, creeks, islets and skerries. The wildlife is at the same time unique. Seals swim along the coastline and there is great opportunity to see various species of birds such as puffins, eider ducks, black guillemots, ringed plovers, skuas and fulmars to name a few. Big bird santuaries can also be found on the small islets and the skerries at Broddanes and the place is a paradise for bird watchers.

The staff here are excellent and helpful, the surroundings of the hostel are amazing, the rooms and common areas have everything you need and I was impressed by their recycling situation.

The building definitely has its own unique vibe that made our stay very special. The hostel has everything you need for cooking, relaxing and simply enjoying what Iceland has to offer. We absolutely loved the bird watching space!

Great hostel with big common area and very well equipped kitchen. Be aware that Google Maps tags the location of the hostel wrongly in the city of Holmavik, even though it’s 30km away from Holmavik. Highly recommended for a roadtrip
